Characters
Chloe - is the main protaganist - she drives the whole incident, and has particular influence over Megan and Katie. She doesn't see her actions as being irresponsible and saw the whole incident as being a bit of a laugh. She finds it easy to use technology to do the things that she did and uses the occasion to demonstrate her skills and abilities to the other girls. The incident changes the dynamic of the group in that Chloe becomes stronger because of the incident and not weaker because the other girls gather round her at Summer's expense.
Evie - Summer's closest friend and is very much the voice of reason in the drama. She challenges Summer to think about the consequences of passing images of herself that might compromise her safety and well-being. Even though she's a good friend of Summer, she finds herself being drawn to the main group at the end in order to be able to maintain her standing with them. Ultimately she leaves Summer on her own.
Megan - is best friends with Katie and whilst they argue a lot, they do spend a lot of time together. Megan has a good understanding of technology and uses it at home to manage her own parent's monitoring of what she is doing online. She even manages to get away with that in the ICT suite as well while they are working on the picture. The fact that she can use technology in this way makes her think of the consequences even less.
Katie - is Megan's best friend and is the joker of the group. Whilst she is comfortable with using the technology, she has a little bit of difficulty with technology and is not quite as devious with it as the others. She also questions Chloe's editing of the picture and therefore is a little bit more aware of the possible consequences than the others.
Summer - Summer is the girl who takes the photograph and she ultimately becomes the target of the incident. She is a popular girl with a large group of friends. Dan was her first boyfriend and breaking up with him was something which she found difficult. She took the photo of herself because she wanted Dan to see what he was missing, but obviously didn't think of the consequences. Her closest friend in the group is Evie and she shares all of her secrets with her.
Jess - a strong member of the whole group, although she is a little bit more independent than the others and is not afraid to make decisions on her own. She is the character who decides to SMS Summer's image onto the other three members of the group. She thinks it's just a bit of fun and doesn't think that Summer would mind anyway. However, once she discovers that the group are altering the image she beings to worry about the conseqences of what she's done for Summer and also her own social standing within the group.
