The Register
Research in 2006 concluded that 61% of UK teachers do not feel sufficiently trained to deal with e safety related issues. Whilst SWGfL is endeavoring to decrease this figure through education and support, more immediate steps are required.
SWGfL has created a programme entitled The Register. This is to enable those teachers and professionals who do have the confidence to deliver e safety related programmes to do so. By building this register of teachers and professionals, SWGfL will be able take requests from schools without such teachers and broker contact with those that do. To get involved with The Register, you need to have the following:
Delivered e safety programmes and messages to children and young people already
Be confident with the internet
Have the support of your school or organization
Be able to travel to nearby schools to deliver these programmes
CRB clearance
