everywhere in one place - introducing the Electronic Service Interface (ESI)

ESI is brought to you as part of the core Schools Internet Services package. Once you’ve used it, and customised it to suit your needs, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

ESI is an intuitive, integrated, individualised control centre. It enables authorised users to get hold of key information gathered from here, there and everywhere. As you like it. You can localise access to different groups, so that teachers, network managers and governors all get to see what they need to see.

At a glance, there’s an overview of the network. You can help yourself to all manner of flightdeck info, like bandwidth usage, web-browsing, web-filtering, email usage and Merlin statistics. Calls are logged and reviewed. You can monitor traffic to identify trends, needs and issues. You can track money matters like invoices and recent transactions. The service desk log will show you what’s working and what’s not, and what stage any problem-solving is at. You can tap into a knowledge library (full of useful articles and FAQs) and a community forum to share concerns as they arise, any time, any day.

If you want alerts, you can receive them by email, (and by text or voicemail in the future). Better still, you can alert us to what you think – in fact, we welcome big requests and small, because we’re determined to make the Schools Internet Services genuinely responsive to your needs. The interface may be ‘electronic’, but it ends up being rather personal.

Find out more about the ESI and how to access it below, or download our ESI quick start guide.
