SWGfL Annual ICT Conference
Linking the ICT industry with educators across the
South West of England
Tuesday 5th July 2011 – University of the West of England Conference Centre
The purpose of this event is to;
- Challenge thinking in the use of ICT in Education
- Showcase new tools and products within the ICT and Education arena that support and enrich teaching and learning
- Provide an environment where delegates, speakers and stakeholders can share best practice and network
- Deliver up to date information on the use of ICT in a T & L environment
- Address the changing relationship between schools and parents and support schools by providing best practice examples, tools and resources and initiatives that can be put into practice
SWGfL Trust ICT Regional Conferences have attracted audiences of 700+ every year. Ordinarily hosting 2 conferences across the region, Bristol and Torquay, it is felt this year that we will host only the Bristol Conference and aim to maximise attendance at one event. This year we aim to encourage not only educators and ICT professionals from the South West but to also delegates from neighbouring regions and those who are not affiliated to a RBC, such as Independent Schools and Colleges, Universities and HE establishments, newly-formed Academies and Newly Qualified Teachers. Having attracted over 700 delegates in 2010 to both events, we feel that focusing our efforts into one event and targeting delegates outside of our borders will result in not only more interest from delegates, but also sponsors and exhibitors.
At a time when local authority cuts have reduced the infra-structure support for schools across the region, support from national external bodies such as Becta have gone and schools are becoming increasingly independent in their own procurement. This conference offers a unique opportunity for suppliers to maintain and develop relationships with the schools and more specifically, the decision-makers in those schools.
With a national reduction in such conferences and the onus now being transferred onto schools to source their ICT provisions directly, we feel that this is an opportunity not to be missed for those organisations that trade in ICT in Education.
The 13th SWGfL ICT Conference takes place on the 5th of July 2011, and we are seeking sponsors as detailed below.

Changes to the Prize Draw

Announcements of winners will still be made at conference end³.
Interest
Organising and running such an event at a reasonable cost to delegates is only possible with the generous support of sponsors, and we would welcome your support if you are able to help.
