This year it was part of a whole school arts week based on the Jurassic Coast. They read the book Dinosaurs and all that Rubbish (Michael Foreman) and the children discussed how they thought they could develop the story and make it their own.

This animation is based on a traditional tale that the children had been working on in Literacy. They had been looking at the structure of stories and using oral retelling to rehearse and refine their story. The strong narrative of the story is what impressed the judges, as well as some wonderful animation techniques (watch out for the flying hats!).

Would you be afraid of a polar bear? Bodriggy Primary use chime bars to set the scene to this story.
